ACUPUNCTUREAcupuncture has only recently been applied to horses in Australia, though it has long been used on horses (and of course people) in China. A detailed explanation of equine acupuncture can be found in Hoofbeats Vol.16 No.5, Feb/March 1995. Any practitioner that you use for acupuncture on your horse should belong to the Australian Veterinary Acupuncture Society. In 1992 the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society conducted certification courses for Australian veterinarians and these practitioners can be located through relevant Australian Veterinary Associations.
