The term 'breaking-in a horse' is no longer fashionable for it implies harsh methods of handling which are now considered to be inappropriate. The term 'horse educators' has been chosen for this section as it reflects current thinking and is less cumbersome than some of the other terms used, such as 'bringing a horse into work' or 'starting a horse'. The term also covers the education of horses that have already been 'broken-in' and which require further education. Note also: the term 'horse trainers' has not been used as it is usually associated with racehorse training. Racehorse trainers have not been included in this book, unless they carry out general horse education as well.
