Horse Rescue Australia (HRA) was founded in Sydney in 1986 by Sally Davies who, after rehabilitating two severly maltreated horses, found that there was both a need for such care and people who would support her work. HRA now operates from a 350 acre property at Oakville, north-west of Sydney, and rehabilitates up to one hundred horses at any given time. Rehabilitating a neglected horse is a very costly and time consuming process and the general public can help through donations of money, equipment and feed, sponsorship of individual horses, making bequests, and by becoming a volunteer. People can become members of HRA and current fees are $10 for Associates, $30 for Individuals and $50 for a Family Membership. Horse Rescue Australia is not represented in the ACT (its nearest office is in Bowral) but the Sydney office can respond to a call anywhere in NSW or ACT. Horse Rescue Australia Inc |
