If you are in doubt about any aspect of your horse's health, ring a vet. You will be able to discuss whether a visit is required and, if the matter is urgent, what to do for your horse while you wait. If the decision is made that a visit is not necessary, you may still receive helpful advice on how to treat the horse yourself.

Call a vet if your horse:

bulletis injured and bleeding profusely
bulletis sweating for no known reason
bulletis foaming at the mouth for no known reason
bullethas signs of colic
bullethas any eye injury
bulletis dejected, listless, or lacking normal energy levels
bullethas a skin condition that doesn't respond to treatment
bullethas persistent scouring (diarrhea)
bulletis reluctant or unable to move
bulletis holding up a leg or won't put a hoof firmly on the ground.

IF IN DOUBT - RING A VET
